“Yango play” All-in-One Entertainment Service Launches Exclusive Ramadan Series Lineup at Launch Event
Yango Play, the all-in-one entertainment service, is now live in the region. This brand-new AI-powered super app, encompassing movies, series, mini-games, music, and the Arabic-speaking voice assistant, Yasmina, was launched at a star-studded event this weekend that showcased its exclusive lineup for the holy month of Ramadan in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The launch event, held at Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel, was attended by some of the Arab world’s best-known film and TV stars such as Bassel Khaiat, Carmen Bsaibes, Khairiah Abulaban, and many more guests, including directors, producers, musicians, media and social media personalities, plus key executives from leading broadcasters and top media companies.
Taking center stage on the red carpet were the stars of Yango Play’s exclusive Ramadan programming lineup, which includes one of Egypt’s highest-ever budget TV drama productions to date, The Assassins (Al Hashasheen), as well as the exclusive Yango Play Original and the company’s first Saudi production, Sakf El Waled.

Al Hashasheen (The Assassins)

Al Hashasheen (or The Assassins) tells the captivating tale of the Order of the Assassins, a clandestine military organizationthat significantly impacted the political landscape of the eleventh century. Renowned for their strategic infiltration of powerful entities and long-standing influence, the formidable presence of the Al Hashasheen resonated through centuries, with their deeds and dark renown chronicled by the famed traveler Marco Polo. The Order of the Assassins are also said to have influenced the premise for the globally acclaimed video game series Assassin’s Creed.
Featuring breathtaking backdrops shot across four countries, “Al Hashasheen” masterfully intertwines the historical grandeur of the Order of the Assassins with their mysterious legacy, showcasing their influence on that era. The Arabic series brings to life the interplay of power and loyalty between the assassins under the leadership of Hassan-i Sabbah.
Sakf El Waled
An exclusive Yango Play Original – marking the company’s first Saudi production – Sakf El Waled revolves around a controlling father who lays down an unusual ultimatum on his children: They must all agree to live under his roof should they want to get married. This intriguing premise sets the stage for a hilarious mishmash of drama and dark comedy, as the series unfolds family conflicts amid comedic situations.
Directed by Abdullah Al Arak – famed for his debut feature, the Saudi wrestling comedy SATTAR, which went on to become the highest-grossing domestic title in the history of Saudi cinema – Sakf El Waled stars Khaled Abdel Aziz, Khairiah Abulaban, Tareq Al-Harbi, Ziad Al-Amiri.
Nazret Hob (A Look of Love)
Starring the incredibly popular Bassel Khaiat and Carmen Bsaibes, Nazret Hob narrates the passionate yet tumultuous love affair between Bahar and Qamar.
Exploring the duality of love and hate within a captivating “twin flame” scenario, along with the explosive emotions that emerge in the face of unforeseen tragedies and extraordinary circumstances, Nazret Hob begins with Bahar heroically rescuing Qamar from a fatal accident, binding their fates together.
As their bond deepens, however, they find themselves facing a myriad of challenges threatening to extinguish their burgeoning romance – including Qamar’s father, a potent political figure embroiled in an intense election battle, and Qamar’s fiancé, who harbors dark intentions towards Bahar.
Penned by Rafi Wehbe and directed by Hossam Ali, Nazret Hob is set to deliver a potent mix of intrigue, emotion, and drama.
Beit El Rifaey
Written by Peter Mimi and directed by Ahmed Nader Galal, Beit El Rifaey centers around Mahmoud El-Rifai, a wealthy man from Egypt’s renowned Nazlet El-Semman tourism hub in Giza, Egypt. He masks his highly illegal businesses and lucrative antiquities trade behind the facade of a respected businessman, revered by the local community.
When his son Yassine refuses to engage in the family’s dubious business affairs, he finds himself setting off a chain of intense internal family disputes, including violent confrontations with his brothers and cousins. Amidst the family’s power struggles, a web of conspiracies comes to light, all scheming to seize control of the family and take over its fortunes. Who will come out on top?
Beit El Rifaey stars Ameer Karara, Sayed Ragab, and Ahmed Rizk in the lead roles.
Revive Your Heart (Nahyaha Li Nahya)
Designed to be streamed during iftar time, Nahyaha Li Nahya is a family-oriented animated program aimed at educating viewers – from children to adults – on the morals and values of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which include kindness, mercifulness, forgiveness, trustworthiness, humility, honesty, justice, and bravery.
Produced by the makers of Qisas Men Al Qur’an (Stories from the Quran) and inspired by the best-selling book of the same name, Nahyaha Li Nahya features the voices of Salah Abdallah, Mohamed Mamdouh, Jana Osama, Heidi Abdel Khaleq, and Sayed El Roumi.
