The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) has finalized its arrangements for the 23rd edition of the Sharjah International Conservation Forum for Arabia’s Biodiversity. This prestigious event will convene for the second consecutive year at Sharjah Safari in Al Dhaid city.

Event Dates and Participation

The forum is slated to commence on 5th February and extend until 8th February, boasting the attendance of over 100 specialized experts and researchers in the field of environmental conservation and biodiversity. These distinguished individuals represent various nations worldwide and will delve into numerous pertinent environmental issues throughout the forum’s sessions.

Emphasizing Environmental Excellence

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA), underscored the significance of the Sharjah International Conservation Forum for Arabia’s Biodiversity. She reiterated the EPAA’s commitment to environmental preservation, sustainable biodiversity, and the propagation of best environmental practices at both institutional and individual levels.

Al Suwaidi highlighted the EPAA’s dedication to hosting the forum annually, aligning with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The forum stands as a testament to Sharjah’s commitment to environmental conservation and its role in nurturing diverse ecosystems.

Key Agenda Items

The organizing committee has meticulously curated a series of environmental topics to be explored by researchers and specialists during the forum’s sessions. These discussions will span morning and evening sessions and will feature the presentation of research findings and studies.

Among the focal points of discussion are species prioritization, rewilding, multi-species reintroductions, conservation genetics, and a comprehensive review of the Sharjah Strandings Response Programme. Notably, veterinary sessions will take center stage, addressing crucial aspects of environmental conservation.
